Beautiful matched pair of seated ceramic cat figurines. These pieces are expertly crafted in the distinctive style of the famous French Art Nouveau designer, Émile Gallé.
Dating from circa 1920s, each figurine features a soft cream-colored ground decorated with a high-gloss crackle glaze. They are whimsically detailed with hand-painted facial features, stylized cobalt blue heart motifs, and geometric circle accents. Their most striking feature is the inset, amber-toned glass eyes that capture the light beautifully.

Condition Report:
This pair is in excellent vintage condition with beautiful, authentic age-related glaze crazing (crackle effect) that gives them a wonderful historic character. There is a repair to the front right leg of right hand cat - this means the repair is not visible when the pair is displayed together. These figurines are unmarked on the base, which is entirely characteristic of mid-century continental European import ceramics from this era. Please review all photos carefully as they form an important part of the visual description.
Shipping & Packaging:
We take extreme care in packing fragile items. This pair will be securely wrapped individually, cushioned to protect the inset glass eyes, and double-boxed to ensure they arrive safely at your doorstep.
