French Antique Valentine Porcelain Vase, Wedding Bride Vase, Hand-Painted with Cobalt Blue & Gold, 19th Century Description A stunning and rare antique French porcelain vase produced by the Valentine manufacture in the mid-to-late 19th century. This style is sometimes called a "vase de mariés" (wedding vase) and was traditionally offered to newlyweds. The piece features a striking deep cobalt blue glaze and exquisite hand-painted polychrome floral bouquets within a white, ornate reserve. The high-quality porcelain is beautifully detailed with elegant gilt (gold) accents. Victorian era French porcelain history, perfect for a collector or romantic home decor. Era: Circa 1850, 19th Century Origin: France (Valentine Manufacture, Saint-Gaudens) Material: Hard-paste Porcelain, Gilt Gold Markings: Marked with "174" on the base Condition: Excellent antique condition; some minor wear to gilding commensurate with age.
