Rare Mid-19th century Victorian Anglo-Indian Vizagapatam carved sandalwood and inlaid box. These boxes were made in India for the British residents during the colonial era, specifically for export to Europe.

Origin & Period: Crafted in workshops in Vizagapatam (now Visakhapatnam), East India, around the mid-19th century.

Materials & Craftsmanship: The box features an intricate, high-relief sandalwood carving depicting a figure amongst trees. It is detailed with fine Sadeli mosaic work.
