A beautiful pair of antique globe vases in the 'Osaka' pattern by James Kent (JKL) Fenton Pottery of Staffordshire, England, dating from the 1910s. Named after the Japanese city, the Osaka pattern is a classic Chinoiserie design — Asian-inspired flow-blue and white decoration accented with heavy gold gilding, combining the deep cobalt blue medallion motifs with an intricate gold chintz border on a crisp white ground.

James Kent's Fenton Pottery was one of Staffordshire's celebrated producers of fine decorative transferware, and the Osaka pattern represents their Chinoiserie range at its most elegant. The globe form of these vases suits the pattern perfectly, allowing the blue medallion design to wrap beautifully around the body.

Some wear to the gilt around the top, consistent with age, but otherwise in excellent condition. A lovely pair for collectors of Staffordshire transferware, Chinoiserie ceramics, or Edwardian decorative pottery.
