They have curled toes called mojari and stitched leather soles. They are lined in red leather with traditional pattern embroidery on the insole. C1880s.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e Developed in the Mughal royal courts (1526-1857), this style of slipper was eventually adopted by the wealthy. They were shaped with turned up toes, which became very fashionable. The shoes would not have been worn outside but would have been used to walk on carpet only - indeed, they were designed more to be seen in, for official functions or official portraits and photographs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition: Good condition with little deterioration.
